.this product shines through. Never a problem from the first day. So glad I purchased it. Turns one hub into 4.
serves its purpose and is cheap.though shipping price is even more expensive than the price i paid for the device. That explains me giving this only 4 stars.
Purchased about 2 months ago, product has worked fine since with multiple USB connectors plugged in at all times into my Dell desktop. I use it at least weekly to plug in USB drives (various brands), camera USB connectors (for a Sony SLR), and/or a backup drive (Iomega) that require no additional power, and the hub does its job of connecting all. The 4 directions do cause a less than streamlined appearance of the cables, which would be less of an issue if you use it with a desktop that is stored under the workspace area. Not a major issue though.A possible future product feature (only applicable to desktops) may be an adhesive that would allow plastering the hub to a side of the machine, to reduce dangle of cables hanging from 4 directions out of the hub.
This little Belkin hub is great for a laptop with limited USB ports. I have a couple of input devices and a webcam (QuickCam 9000, also from Amazon) connected to my Belkin mini-hub, and the devices all work flawlessly.As you can see from the picture, the cable that connects the hub to the computer is fixed. (This is convenient, though I sometimes wish it were longer, and since I keep my laptop on a stand, the hub ends up "hanging" down from the stand). Though it was not clear from the picture, the hub actually has what seems to be a strain-relief connector at that corner shown where the integrated USB "cable" connects at the hub.It looks great, is a neutral silver/black color and, in my few months using it, this hub continues to work superbly.
HD. Very good product. While some reviewers are not happy with the shape that is fine by me as it is just hanging in the back of my comp.That is great product because it works flawlessly from self-install to supporting all the peripherals: mouse, webcam, burner and ext. Not only that, it is also connected through the docking station of my laptop. I had problems with other cheap hubs, but this one performs great.
